_{I started this back in August or something, did most of it in one evening, and just now found it again, so I thought I'd finish it off lmao

So Nasriyen is a runaway princess, from a kingdom on an island a little southeast from Carolinge. She's descended from seafaring nomads who made a living from a mix of trade, fishing, privateering, and opportunistic piracy. They conquered the island of Gol Dushan several hundred years ago, establishing a dynamic dynasty of kings whose tendency toward political intrigue is well-known for turning violent at the slightest provocation. Nasriyen was taught from a very young age to fight, to ride, to sail, and to inveigle herself into whatever groups she thinks she can use in order to survive the cutthroat court of Gol Dushan. As a result, she's a surprisingly dangerous girl to cross.

She ran away at sixteen because she couldn't stand the pressure. All she really wants out of life is to sing and dance - something she's not just permitted but encouraged to do as a part of the Nagi Pirates.
