Alternate Title:"And they say I can't even wear my hat."
The first of this second batch of points commissions, for *TenshiNoFuu. I had a lot of fun drawing this. You can probably see why.
The shinigami uniform seems like it must be quite hot in the summer months. Ace being Ace, he's taken off as much of it as he can without being told off. He must be quite distraught about losing his hat. In the original sketch, there was a thought bubble floating above Fuu's head that said : "oh, you drama queen." I'da kept it, but I couldn't write it neat enough, alas...
What would his zanpaku-to be called? I was leaning towards borrowing one of his attack names- 'Shinka Shiranui' sounds pretty cool', but I haven't decided one way or another yet.
And, Fuu.
I both love and hate Fuu's character design in that she's really, really pretty, with all that hair and her big eyes, etc., but for me, she's really quite difficult to draw so that she actually looks like herself. My style doesn't involve big big eyes, yanno? But without them, Fuu's just not Fuu. So, my awesome solution is to draw her with her eyes closed. 
Ain't I brilliant?
Anyway, long loose hair is idiotic when you're gonna be fighting in close quarters, so I tied Fuu's hair back. It looks nice in a bun, I think. And I gave her an obi-like thing rather than a standard shinigami sash, because when I tried giving her the standard sash, it just didn't look right. Nemu's got one, anyway, so there's your precedent.
Fuu-chan! What would her zanpaku-to be?
I'm very interested with the possibilities of a crossover now... The OP characters would have some bloody epic zanpaku-to.

Ace belongs to Eiichiro Oda
Bleach/shinigami belong to Tite Kubo
Art belongs to Kem (and Fuu, 'cause she bought it~)

Even though I'm unfamiliar with Bleach, this is hilarious to me from the OP side of things XD! Ace is so destined to be a free, roaming sea-faring boy that it's quite hysterical to see him in another role and you crossed him over accordingly. The sweeping upward perspective from his left arm up to his chin (including the sword) is fabulous and gives the impression of "aww, man!" that you describe in the artist's comment. Very cute scene, impressive minimal bg (the tree is KILLER), and I'm sure that there's even more to the crossover that you incorporated which makes it twice as spectacular with an OP and Bleach perspective. Nicey nice nice!
